Where are you located?

Dr. Air Heating & Cooling, Inc. is located at 3649 Chicago Road in Steger, IL. We service all of northwest Indiana and the southern Chicago area from New Lenox to Momence to 89th street in Chicago. Our technicians come to you for service. They are licensed, bonded and insured. Our technicians are factory-trained, dressed in company uniforms with company trucks, drug tested and background checked.

What are your hours?

Our office is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and a live person will answer the phone. We do same-day service on all makes and models. We are an authorized distributor for Rheem and American Standard brands. We offer 24-hour emergency service, same-day installation and Saturday service.

What is the cost of a service call?

For our technician to come out is $99 to diagnose what is wrong and give an estimate of repair cost before any work is done. We accept all major forms of payment with the exception of American Express. We also offer financing for 12 or 18 months, with approved credit through Wells Fargo.

Your advertisement says “free estimates.” Why the $99 charge?

Free estimates are given on replacement of complete units, either furnace, boiler or air conditioning unit installations.

What does it cost for a cleaning?

We offer a coupon price of $99 to clean and check your furnace/boiler/air conditioner.

What does the clean and check consist of?

We vacuum the burner chamber, check all the controls, check the heat exchanger, clean the flame sensor, oil the fan motor if needed, check the filters, and check the thermostat and cycle the unit. Should a part need to be replaced or shows sign of failure, it will be pointed out and cost would be explained. We guarantee no breakdowns. If your furnace/air conditioner breaks down after your tune-up, we’ll return for free!

My thermostat isn’t working, what should I do?

Is your furnace – boiler – air conditioner running? If not, we can set up a service call.

When can you come out to service my unit?

If your unit is not working properly, we will set up a service call today and have our technician call you with a four-hour time arrival window. If you are requesting a clean and check, we will schedule a day, call you that day between 8 and 9 in the morning, and give you a two-hour arrival window to complete your service.
